The Craven Museum team have been working with Craven College to create our very own podcast ‘Stories and Treasures’, which will follow the Heritage Lottery Funded project to redevelop the Museum.
The team are inviting you join them behind the scenes of this redevelopment project, and chat with the volunteers, architects, designers, and of course the team themselves, involved to find more about the 3 year project.
To listen to our podcast, just scroll down and click play on the Episode you’d like to listen to, or listen on iTunes or Spotify (just type ‘Stories and Treasures’ or ‘Craven Museum’, and it should pop up!).

Episode 1: Introduction
The team at Craven Museum invites you to join them behind the scenes, and have a chat with the volunteers, architects, designers, and of course the team themselves involved to find more about the 3 year project.
Just how do you pack over 60,000 objects whilst building work takes place? How do you choose which objects will go on display, how is the new interpretation developed and what are some of challenges that come with a big redevelopment project? Find out by listening to Episode 1 of ‘Stories and Treasures’, Craven Museum’s podcast, in partnership with Craven College staff and students.
In Episode 2, we talked to Rachel Terry, Museum and Collections Officer about packing up the Museum and it’s Collection (of over 60,000 objects!) ready for the redevelopment, and discuss some of the big challenges facing the Museum team.
In Episode 3, students from Craven College have taken over, creating their own mini podcasts using objects in the Museum’s collection as inspiration. This month, we have podcasts from students Olivia Parry and Daniel Bullock.
In Episode 4, the team at Craven Museum discuss their favourite objects in the Museum collection, which includes a diary from a cotton weaver in Barnoldswick in 1862.
